1，1、 In a large multi-user computer system with many terminals, the OS is very complex .it must manage and run all user requests, ensuring they do not interface with each other. It must share all devices which are serial in nature amongst all other requesting them. The OS would be stored on disk, and portions of it loaded into computer system memory when needed. Utilities would be providing for managing files and documents, development of programs and software, communication between people and other computer systems, managing user requirements for programs, storage space and priority.
2、In multimedia networks, reliability is a question of quality. Audio and video data, in comparison to text or numeric data are less sensitive to errors and loss during transmission. Losing a few pixels from a video frame, or getting a few bits wrong in an audio sample, may result in barely noticeable presentation errors and so is probably not catastrophic(灾难的). However, multimedia networks cannot totally ignore reliability since errors increase, noise is added which ultimately leads to unacceptable presentation quality
Memory is closely associated with the CPU because it stores programs and data temporarily, thus making them immediately available for processing by the CPU.
The control unit is that portion of the computer that directs the sequence or step-by-step operations of the system, selects instructions and data from memory ,interprets the program instructions, and controls the flow between main storage and the arithmetic-logical unit.
