I sighed. Yet another day. The sun shone through the curtains of my bedroom. Half six. I have the meeting today, I have to look my best, I have to do that everyday anyway, I'm used to it.
Peter, such a common name. He is the client that I need to meet today. Boring talks and chats over lunch, how typical, my treat, I guess. I have already informed my secretary, she's a capable girl, so there shouldn't be much I need to do. But nevertheless, I had a bad feeling about this meeting, I felt the butterflies flatter around uneasily in my stomach.
Here goes, I entered the restaurant. Towards the desired place I forcefully moved my feet, my body felt like lead, business is not my thing. Sighing one last time, I straightened my looks, put on a cheerful look, my fake smile appeared, and yet again, for another day, I put on the façade.
"Mr. Peter, did you wait for long?" I mustered and worked on my tone of voice so that I seem very enthusiastic, which is no where near the truth. I wanted to get it over with.
"Not at all." He replied just as polite.
I hate the façade that everyone puts on these days, but it is the way business worked, in the past, now, and in the future.
We started making those boring small talks, gradually getting to the point.
We started talking about money. Money, something that has became irreplaceable in our lives, something that RULES our lives today.
The discussions went on, my fake enthusiasm complimented the conversation. Yet another day had passed, what is the meaning of living like this?
