本专业培养具有水利水电工程的勘测、规划、设计、施工、科研和管理等方面的知识,能在水利、水电等部门从事规划、设计、施工、科研和管理等方面工作的高级工程技术人才。

本专业学生主要学习水利水电工程建设所必需的数学、力学和建筑结构等方面的基本理论和基本知识,使学生得到必要的工程设计方法、施工管理方法和科学研究方法的基本训练,具有水利水电工程勘测、规划、设计、施工、科研和管理等方面的基本能力。

1.具备扎实的数理、力学基础知识,宽厚的水利工程、土木工程专业知识和较好的经济、管理、人文等科学基础;
2.系统地掌握工程力学、工程结构、水力学、岩土力学、地质、测量、水文和水利经济等基本理论和基本知识;
3.掌握水工建筑物的设计理论和基本技能;
4.具备水利水电工程的勘测、规划、设计、施工和管理的能力;
5.具有较强的计算机和外语应用能力;
6.具有水利水电工程所必需的制图、计算、实验和测试等基本技能;
7.掌握文献检索、资料查询的基本方法,具有独立获取知识、信息处理的基本能力;

主要课程:理论力学、材料力学、结构力学、水力学、土力学与地基基础、钢筋混凝土结构、工程地质与水文地质、工程水文、工程测量、水利水能规划、水工建筑物、水电站、水利工程施工等。
主要实践性教学环节:包括课程实习、专业实习、课程设计和毕业设计等、其中每门课程设计一般安排1--2周,毕业设计一般安排12--13周。
