The story happensin a Broadway Theatre in New York.Riggan is a washed-up actor who once played a superhero about two decades ago, he wants to reinvent his career by directing a play. The play will be on in a few days, so he and his creative team try to break in by repeated rehearsals, diffusing his and few other protagonists’ fates through constant collision, and also the problems encountered by each of them in their careers, loves, families and dreams.

Despite the intertwining leads, the story is not complicated. It shows one scene after another in perfect order, as if you are watching on the screen the whole process of a bird from shell breaking to a full-fledged fowl and you are fascinated by this life. As the plot develops, every character is explored deeper and deeper, from the regular relationship of father and daughter, director and actors, director and producer, man and lovers, former boyfriend and girlfriend, ego and ID etc., it anatomies the complicated, complex, entangled character dispositions, until you hold your breath for his monologue or their dialogues.
