Abstract: in order to meet the needs of recognition and understanding of the hand gesture recognition system, this paper proposes a fast, robust finger and fingertip detection method. According to the clustering properties of color in the color space, the preliminary separation of the interested gesture part. Then on this basis, through the hand contour curvature feature method combined with annular detector for parallel lines, to achieve fast and accurate detection of finger and finger. The experimental results show that, the method can detect the fingertips, fingers effectively in the condition of complicated background. And lay the foundation for further application in hand gesture recognition system.

Extract: In order to satisfy the needs of gesture recognization and comprehension in the gesture recognization system, this article put forward a quick detection method of robust fingure and fingure tip. First extracting hte interested gestures according to the clustering character of skin color in color space; then on the former basis,realizing the quick and accurate measurement through the curve rate characteristic method of hand contour edge combined with the ring operator used for detection the parallel lines. The experiment result shows, this method can effectively inspect the fingure and fingure tip in complex situations and will lay the foundation of further applicaiton of gesture recognization system.
